Current music:"Keep Holding On" - Avril Lavigne

The really super subtle Orion suggestion list, year two.
*completely ignores the fact that she's been AWOL for over a month, says nothing about ever-growing pile of pooeyness that her life is becoming, and chirpily gets straight down to business*

It has suddenly come to my attention that Orion Awards nominations close on the 15th, so if I'm going to do one of those "for your consideration" posts to ruthlessly whore myself out selflessly help us bolster the number of noms, I had better do it... well, now.

Thus there is below a short list of those fics I wrote during 2006 that I consider to be slightly less crap than the rest, with handy dandy links so you can check them out and see if you'd like to nom them or not.

GENRE: HET ROMANCE
Family Tree

GENRE: SLASH ROMANCE
Possibilities
Psychosomatism

GENRE: ANGST
Exaltation
Heir

By the way, Surrogate has already been nommed for both "Best Drabble" and "Best Miscellaneous Genre" - which is why I haven't listed any fics for possible Type nomination, as it seems I only wrote drabbles last year¹.

¹ Yes, yes, I know. But give me a break, I spent most of my time being really ill - umm, I mean, valiantly working away at "Undercurrents".

You're ALIVE! Like Yay! (And like Doctor Frankenstein, too, but ignore the bolts sticking out of the side of your head - I'm sure you can hang earrings on them or something useful.)

Also, where has been my Daily Pokeage. It was your noble and sacred duty to stop me from buying more books than I read. And, um, given the state/extent of my Booklist at the moment, your lack of effort has not been wasted. *smilenod*

Anyhow, *pokepoke*.

And *pokepoke* on Undercurrents, too.

Maybe I can get them converted so that I can have the internet fed directly into my brain...?

Umm. Sorry. I was fulfilling my other noble and sacred duty of going "OMG! Where is all this money coming from?" and buying six million books that I won't ever read. (And six million DVDs. Nng. I think I need to make a DVD list now too...)

Hey, it's the new year! I don't need to finish Undercurrents until December 31st for it to be eligible for this year's Orions! *grin*

Well in that case I expect to see all these pretty, unread books on your Booklist. Pretty much because I think my consumption of mine should be beating yours. But, can your recent acquisition of money beat the 57 books I've bought since dec 28th?

Also, you must finish Undercurrents now, so that you can have some other project of great annoyingness for us to bug you about once it's done.

F-fifty seven?! Okay, I am now experiencing feelings of inadequacy and the urge to go and buy many, many more books. As penance for my failure I shall go and update my Booklist. *hangs head and trundles away*

...But but but the point of finishing Undercurrents is so people will stop bugging me! :|

You know how I said fifty-seven this morning, like, 5 hours ago? It's now sixty-three. Oh joy for the incurable buyer of books. *is so very very shamed* But the 20% off at that Borders in the city was still on! And I had a $10 voucher I had to spend in Janurary, and 20% *and* $10 is awesomely cool, no? No?

And the point of finishing Undercurrents is so that it is *finished* and you can go on towards your literary career from there, me thinks.
