The trials of another day of website making.
I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS.

So I've been updating my website again today, and it was all trundling along fine - spent ages trying to find the camera card reader, couldn't upload some files because they were too big, couldn't find some of my really old files, some of my files mysteriously not uploading - until I discovered that one of my files just would not upload.

I kept telling it to upload it, and Brinkster would open the file manager and start off, then it would finish and close the window, but not go to the "file uploaded" page. Now normally that's alright and it'll have done it anyway: it doesn't actually need to display the "file uploaded" page.

After about ten tries I got it to actually load the page properly and this is what it said: "Not enough space to upload required file."

I HAVE RUN OUT OF SPACE.

Worse that this, it won't let me delete files! If I go to the other file manager, it'll let me delete whole directories - but not individual files. How the heck am I supposed to make enough space for the files I do want if it won't let me delete stuff properly??

ARG.

This is just seriously annoying because it means I will probably have to move. Yet. Again. No wonder nobody has heard of my website, despite the fact that it's better than a lot of the more well-known fansites, because every time I start working up a bit of a reputation my webhost screws up and I have to move. And then I have to start all over again.

I'm frelling sick of this. I'm seriously considering buying some webspace just so people will stop screwing me around.

Unfortunately I have no money. Urg.

(This is at least the fourth webhost I've had that's gone insane, you know.)

What about Kylosa? They're not the best, but they're reliable.

I use http://www.cjb.cc/. It's the same host I suggested for the Onions, and it's ideal for small websites. You don't get unlimited storage and space, but at least there is a tracker on your control panel that displays how much bandwidth you've used today/this month, and how much space you've got left.
